WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes: Fired Or Taking A Break For Marriage?

It’s already been an unforgettable week for WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes — and it’s not over yet. Wedding bells are merely days away for the 28-year-old wrestler, who sadly lost his Sept. 2 match to Randy Orton on Monday Night RAW.

Randy Orton Beats Cody Rhodes On ‘Monday Night RAW’

What was supposed to be the match of his career, sadly, didn’t end in his favor. Cody and Randy went face-to-face in the wrestling ring Sept. 2, only for it to end in heartbreak for the soon-to-be-married superstar. Cody came close to beating Randy, but not close enough. Instead of ending the match with his signature move, the match ended with an RKO from Randy Orton.

And after the match, Triple H shockingly fired Cody! However, some are speculating Triple H really fired Cody because he’s taking time off for his wedding and honeymoon, according to the Inquisitr.

Meanwhile, Randy’s in the middle of jump-starting his career again. During the SummerSlam “Superstars For Hope” event at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Aug. 15, HollywoodLife.com spoke to Randy EXCLUSIVELY about his career plans:

It’s been a couple years and I have been laying low and I think it’s about that time. There have been some personal things going on, there have been things at work going on, but they all have come to a head and life is simplifying itself right now so I can concentrate more at work. The last two or three months I have had some really good matches with Christian, RVD and Daniel Bryan and I am looking forward to more of that. And here we are at SummerSlam, the biggest PPV and I don’t have a match. I got to find something to do, right?

Cody Rhodes & Brandi Reed Getting Married — Congrats

Cody is getting married this week to ring announcer Brandi Reed; he proposed to her back in November 2012. Brandi began her career as a developmental talent recruiter for FCW under the name Eden Stiles and then went on to work as a ring announcer. In December 2011, Brandi asked for her release, according to the Inquisitr.

While Cody might be feeling a little blue about the match, we’re sure he’s very excited about his wedding and honeymoon!
